Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) established its Guidelines of Environmental and Social Considerations in October 2003. JACSES are monitoring the implementation of the guidelines,

• September 30, 2010: A Citizen's Guide to Environmental and Social Guidelines of Japanese Public Financial Institutions Involved in Project Overseas (PDF) was issued.
• PROTECT YOURSELF FROM DESTRUCTIVE DEVELOPMENT!-A Handbook on JBIC's Social and Environmental Guidelines(PDF 4.5MB):This handbook provides basic information about JBIC and the process of JBIC projects. It also explains the important parts of JBIC's environmental guidelines and how to use JBIC’s complaints procedure, called the “Objection Procedures.” If you or people you know are suffering because of a development project financed by JBIC, this handbook may be a useful tool for you.
